İbrahim Gökmen, born in 1997 in Izmir, is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in ceramics and painting. He graduated from Bilgi University with a degree in New Media and Communication. Nearing the end of his academic studies, Gökmen—feeling confined by the theoretical framework of his education—discovered a deep interest in creative expression through music. This realization marked the beginning of his journey into artistic production.
After graduation, Gökmen dedicated his time to exploring both visual and sonic forms of expression, immersing himself in music production, painting, and later, ceramics. Over the past few years, he has cultivated a distinct visual language that bridges these disciplines, emphasizing materiality, texture, and the emotional resonance of form.
Gökmen’s artistic style is defined by a refined simplicity—his works often feature minimal, yet evocative figures and compositions. Beneath this apparent simplicity lies a subtle interplay between color, surface, and communication, revealing complex emotional and conceptual layers upon closer inspection.
In his ceramic works, Gökmen investigates the tactile qualities of clay and the organic irregularities that emerge through the process of shaping and firing. In painting, he translates similar ideas into a two-dimensional space, where muted tones and spontaneous gestures coexist. His practice continues to evolve through an experimental dialogue between form, sound, and emotion, as he develops projects that weave together music, visual art, and material exploration.
